Register for our webinar with the UKEB & the ISAB to learn about the new requirements in IFRS 18.

The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) will provide insight into the new IFRS 18 Accounting Standard and its three main topic areas: defined categories and subtotals;, management-defined performance measures; and grouping: aggregation and disaggregation of information, to help QCA members prepare for these new requirements. Also presenting will be the UK Endorsement Board (UKEB), who will share insights it has heard on these requirements and will ask for input on any emerging challenges companies may encounter when implementing IFRS 18. From the small and mid-sized quoted company perspective, the QCA will be setting out its views on the new Standard. At the end of each topic area, webinar attendees will have the opportunity to put their questions to the speakers.

Rochelle Duffy, Partner, Technical and Compliance, PKF | Chair, QCA Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting Expert Group

Rochelle is responsible for the technical and compliance support given to PKF partners and staff in areas relating to audit, accounting and ethics. She uses her technical knowledge and experience in international and UK accounting and auditing requirements to ensure the firm remains compliant and up to date with the changes that impact PKF’s business and our clients. As the Qualified Person Responsible for Training (QPRT), she ensures that our ICAEW trainees receive the required training to support their professional development. Rochelle is a member of several mid-tier accountancy groups on technical, ethics and training. She is Chair of the Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting Expert Group of the Quoted Companies Alliance, ensuring that the views of SME listed companies are brought to the forefront of changes proposed by the UK and international regulators and standard setters.

Giles Mullins, Board Member, UK Endorsement Board

Giles is a chartered accountant and Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP.  He leads the firm’s Financial Accounting Advisory Team which supports clients with financial reporting expertise or on demand loan solutions and is a member of the global Grant Thornton Financial Reporting Advisory Board. He also serves on the ICAEW’s Financial Reporting Faculty Board and the the Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting Expert Group at the Quoted Companies Alliance.

Patrina Buchanan, International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) 

Patrina Buchanan joined the IASB on 1 December 2022 for a five-year term. Ms Buchanan has worked at the IFRS Foundation for almost two decades, working on many IASB projects including on leases, revenue recognition and consolidation. She has also led the IFRS Foundation’s activities to support consistent application of IFRS Accounting Standards, including managing the work of the IFRS Interpretations Committee. Before joining the IFRS Foundation, she held various positions in PwC across Europe, providing audit services and IFRS advice to clients in Ireland, the UK and Belgium. Ms Buchanan has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Ulster in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
