The FRC's Financial Reporting Lab sets out reminders for this reporting season

The Financial Reporting Council's (FRC) Financial Reporting Lab has published a useful set of reminders for companies to consider this reporting season, drawn from various reports that it has done on:

  • Audit Committee reporting
  • Remuneration reporting
  • Presentation of market risk disclosures
  • Debt terms and maturity tables
  • Net debt reconciliations
  • Operating cash flows

The IFRS Foundation launches a post-implementation review of IFRS 3

The IFRS Foundation has launched a review into IFRS 3 Business Combinations to seek feedback on experience with, and the effect of, implementing the Standard. If you have any comments on this standard, please send them through to Kate Jalbert before the end of April 2014 and we will include them in our response to the IFRS Foundation.

The FRC is also holding an event on 24 March 2014 to discuss any issues users and preparers have had with the standard. You can find out more and register for the event on the FRC's website.

London Stock Exchange consulted on changes to the AIM Rules for Companies and NOMADs

The London Stock Exchange recently consulted on changes to the AIM Rules for Companies and NOMADs. One of the key changes proposed was to AIM Rule 26, which would require AIM companies to disclose which corporate governance code they apply and further details of their governance arrangements. We welcomed this in our response to the consultation, as well as commenting on a number of areas and suggesting further changes to the rules.
