Our Annual Conference – Engineering Growth for Small and Mid-Size Quoted Companies – took place on 24 June 2014. Around 200 attendees, including quoted company directors, advisors to the sector, investors, brokers, market makers and journalists, heard about the key issues affecting the growth of quoted companies and public equity markets more generally.

Keynote speakers included:

  • Matthew Hancock MP, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise and Minister of State for Energy, interviewed by James Hurley, Enteprise Editor of The Times
  • Jon Moulton, Non-Executive Chairman, finnCap, and Founder of Better Capital
  • Luke Johnson, Chairman, Risk Capital Partners

The conference featured three panel sessions on enhancing public equity markets in the UK, errors made in meetings with investors and how to avoid them, building better boards. We also held three breakout sessions on that day on using annual reports as an effective tool for communication, understanding how your company's shares are traded and your share register, and emerging forms of finance.

We have published a report that summarises the day, including the results of the interactive questions. Click here to download the report (large pdf file).

You can watch all the keynote speeches and panel sessions on our YouTube channel.

In the meantime, save the date for our 2015 conference – 4 June 2015. Please feel free to send us through ideas and thoughts on what topics and speakers we should include in our 2015 conference programme by emailing Samantha Green.
