For a second year the ICSA Hermes Transparency in Governance Awards will include an Award for the best overall report for FTSE small cap and AIM quoted companies. This award resulted from a suggestion from the QCA Corporate Governance Committee and we are delighted that good practice in reporting in smaller companies is being recognised in this way.
The assessment methodology and a report on last year’s winner can be found on the ICSA website. Companies who wish to have their annual report considered for this year's award should contact smallcapaward@icsa.co.uk with a request and a pdf copy of their annual report. The deadline for this year’s nominations is 31 July 2011.
The judges will take account of how the company reports its strategy and risks together with how it reports on its governance including board performance, remuneration and the work of its committees. The judges are keen to understand from the reports how long-term value will be created and sustained for shareholders.
