Our Corporate Governance Expert Group contributed to our response to the House of Commons Public Bill Committee Call for Evidence on the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill. We focused our response on ‘Part 7 – Companies: Transparency’ and ‘Part 8 – Company Filing requirements’ of the Bill, as these are the areas of greatest significance to small and mid-size quoted companies. We noted our concern that the proposed rules on the register of people with significant control could be dependent on the outcome of the negotiations of the 4th Money Laundering Directive proposal on beneficial ownership.
