The Quoted Companies Alliance Legal Committee has advised on our response to the European Commission's consultation on the future of European Company Law. We noted that the Second Company Law Directive should be reviewed, with an aim to provide alternative use of the balance sheet test and solvency test for the capital regime.
Our response also highlighted the need for an SME asset class, a more focused definition of what an SME is and to continue the Commission’s ‘Think Small First’ approach.
